A Study in Warm Traditionalism

An alternative design direction for an earlier kitchen project.

For this study, I revisited a kitchen project I had worked on previously, this time exploring a more traditional direction. The idea was to introduce more classical detailing without making the kitchen feel overly formal. Framed cabinetry, a furniture-style island, rich walnut, natural oak, marble and brass bring together different textures and tones.

I wanted the kitchen to feel warm and inviting, with the kind of character that belongs in a home that has evolved over time. It's also an opportunity to explore a different side of my design work. Not every kitchen needs to be contemporary, and traditional design doesn't have to feel dated.

This is a conceptual design study based on an earlier project. The drawings and visualizations explore an alternative direction and do not represent the completed kitchen.
